I have documented below some of my favorite PPC tools that I use day in day out to help me manage and maintain my PPC accounts. If you cant see a tool on this list you think I should be talking about then contact me.
1. Split Tester – http://www.splittester.com/
This tool is really useful to quickly calculate which of you ad copy tests has performed better, just enter some really top level information and you will get the winner.
2. Google Keyword Planner
Cost: FREE (Subject to having an Adwords account)
Ok so the “Adwords keyword tool” is now no more, but don’t fear the Google Keyword Planner is its replacement. You can find this within the “Tools & Analysis” tab.
The tool is a beefed up version of the old keyword tool, allowing keyword research, suggestion of ad groups, filters, performance etc…
3. Spyfu – http://www.spyfu.com/
Cost: FREE with limitations or $79 a month for basic unlocked account
This tool helps you work out what your competitors are up to with PPC campaigns. Allows you to see potential keywords your competitor is bidding on and even what type of ad copy they are using. This is by far one of my favourite tools.
4. Merge Words – http://mergewords.com/
Really simple online tool to create different permutations of keywords
5. Adwords Wrapper – http://www.mikes-marketing-tools.com/adwords-wrapper.html
A great tool to allow you to “wrap” your keywords into phrase, exact & modified broad match types – great time saver
6. Google Think – http://www.thinkwithgoogle.com/insights/emea
As Google describes “Your online destination for marketing insights, industry research and consumer trends”
7. Adwords Desktop Editor – http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwordseditor/
Adwords editor is a powerful tool for managing and making mass changes to you Adwords campaigns. This really is a tool that most PPC people cant live without
8. User Testing – http://www.usertesting.com/
COST: Cost per participant $49
Watch usability testing videos of visitors speaking their thought as they browse your website. This is a great tool to get feedback on landing page design – there is no quicker way to get good usability feedback
